Our Engineered Wood Products client with manufacturing  plants in the  Eastern and Western US  is seeking a qualified senior estimator to review plans and project estimates (in partnership with sales and engineering teams), establish and maintain tendering processes, and prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.  The selected candidate will prepare estimates and quotes of probable costs of materials, labor and equipment, along with developing reliable subcontractor and vendor relationships (jointly with the Project Management team) to obtain good subcomponent pricing.   The estimator will be in regular contact with all invested parties (engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors), develop and maintain quoting tools and templates, and build pricing and costing databases.  The estimator will also ensure compliance with bid documents, train and supervise other estimators with the latest tools and techniques in the field, and lead bid reviews with customers as needed .

 

The selected candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in construction management  or construction/civil technical diploma with 3 years estimating experience in construction, engineered wood manufacturing, design, or a related field . The final candidate  must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret construction documents, be detailed oriented, self-motivated and capable of multitasking with minimal direct supervision.   The candidate should also have excellent communication skills, including  the use of a wide variety of computer based programs ( including BlueBeam, CAD, and the Microsoft Suite).

 

Senior management will offer the selected  candidate the option of living in the Southern US, including Texas along with the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain region. Remote and hybrid candidates will also be considered for this role.  The final offer will include an attractive compensation package and  retirement benefits.

Industrial Maintenance Technician – 2nd

Description
The Industrial Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift, is accountable for keeping the production machinery functioning in a proper manner to ensure manufacturing schedules and targets are met. This role focuses on promoting equipment longevity and operational efficiency through preventative maintenance and downtime minimization. Proficiency with equipment maintenance, technical understanding, troubleshooting, dealing with uncertainty, and a safety-conscious mindset are required.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensures operation of machinery and equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, VFDs, soft starts and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates the source of problem by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation, using precision measuring, and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, squares, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, straightedges, multimeters, and basic electrical component programing knowledge.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation, welders, torches, grinders, drills, hydraulic press, and all other tools/equipment associated with Industrial Maintenance.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supply inventories, by reporting stock needs to Purchasing; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing Purchase Request and verifying receipt.
• Provides mechanical and electrical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and by establishing personal networks.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment, complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Required Skills & Experience
• Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, both mechanical and electrical required; with three (3) years of related working experience desired.
• Basic computer skills desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Hourly Rate:     $19/Hr. – $ 25/Hr.  D.O.E. and Leadership Roles

Description:

The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks including set up, operating, monitoring, troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will work in a small group setting (2- 7 other employees). The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to ensure they meet specifications, making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.  Will train.  Day shift and Evening shift openings.             

Machine centers openings include:

  • Finger Jointer
  • CLT Press
  • Sander
  • CNC
  • Planer

Duties and Responsibilities: (Will Train)

  • Comply with all safety and health regulations
  • Set up, operate, and monitor a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion
  • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform minor maintenance
  • Follow SOP’s to ensure quality products are produced
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Cross train in other machine centers
  • Cross train other operators

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred but not required)
  • Mechanical Skills (Preferred but not required)
  • Previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing facility. (Preferred but not required)
  • Basic computer skills (Preferred but not required)
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions

Day shift            6am-4:30 pm M-Th (Normal shifts)

Swing shift        4:30 – 2:30 M-Th (Day shift to start initially)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working in a team environment in a wood manufacturing setting
  • Follows safe work practices. Employee safety is the up most important to us!
  • Follow all health & safety regulations including wearing appropriate protective equipment
  • May be required to use floor, palm, and belt sanders and other hand and other small hand-held tools as necessary to meet finishing standards
  • May sort lumber
  • May be required to use/apply epoxy fillers or glue product as needed
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Team Member oriented 
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships and interact with co-workers
  • Able to clearly communicate with coworkers and Team Leader
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to use tape measures and other basic small tools.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Communication: read and write in English

  • Follows safe work practices. Employee safety is the up most important to us!
  • Follow all health & safety regulations including wearing appropriate protective equipment
