SmartLam’s origin stems from a desire to produce sustainable products for the building industry. Our expertise in engineering and design, allows us to create quality CLT and glulam products that respond to today’s need for sustainable materials. With two state-of-the-art facilities, one in Columbia Falls, Montana and another in Dothan, Alabama, our combined production capacity exceeds 3.9 million ft3 (111,000 m3) of CLT per year with a glulam capacity of 10 million fbm (23,600 m3) annually. We procure all of our lumber from sawmills practicing certified sustainable forestry practices. We were also the first in the industry to create an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Southern Yellow Pine CLT.

Our panel grades and thicknesses are a combination of species, lumber strength, and lumber thicknesses both to optimize structural performance and ensure the most cost-effective solution. Our nimble and creative engineering department offers proprietary panel recipes for specific building needs.

We understand that while modern, state-of-the-art equipment is essential to manufacture high-quality mass timber, it is the people who operate and maintain the equipment that create outstanding products.
